Bayside Calendars: Tom D has a number of them for sale at 10 Euro each [ less than a Euro a month!] Collect at the Boules or call to 17 V.P. New Alden Park boules surface: The thin layer of new surface material is bedding in ok.  It is taking a little getting used to but generally the comments are favourable.  Here we see some trying out the pistes for the first time.. Malahide Boules: A group from BBC is supporting the Malahide start-up boules.  We will assist at irregular intervals as weather permits over December / January.  Then they can establish their own systems etc. The pistes are brand new and a little slow but a great facility nonetheless with toilets, parking and cafe nearby.  Any occasional support would be most welcome.  My thanks to those who have already supported. Boules Explosion: New facilities recently added or refurbed. Santry Demesne just inside the main gate.  A pair of pistes with parking and toilets nearby.  The wheelchair access points are more considered tha

Refurbishment Works: Fingal Co.Co. delivered two tonnes of top dressing for the pistes, on request from the committee.  Some sub-stone had begun to appear on the pistes.  We will request some more grit for the pathways to define them better and suppress weed and grass growth.  Our thanks to the group of 'Spreaders' last Saturday morning.  Players will find the surface somewhat different for a few weeks but the weather will work its magic as happened recently in St. Anne's pistes. I haven't posted in a while so this is a catch all.  Group A Monday Singles: Firstly, congratulations to Tom Buckley on his recent victory in the Group A Monday singles competition winning the Tom Walsh trophy for the first time.  Tom received the Tom Walsh Memorial Trophy from the previous winner Chris Grehan.  He was delighted to be in the winner's enclosure and was magnanimous in his thanks to his fellow competitors and particularly Charlie for his virtual management and advice. IPA TRIPLES: Ciaran, Michael and Tom D took a chance and entered the qualifiers for the Celtic Challenge due to be played in Bangor (N.I) in early 2023.  Notice the 'community group' colours and crest! It coincided with the death of Queen Elizabeth but went ahead in any event. We finished last in our pool but the margin between victory and defeat was not huge, in most cases. Having 'Shooters' was key to victory in most teams.  Here are a few photos to sample the occasion. Group A Mond
