Pistes Galore

 Bayside Calendars:

Tom D has a number of them for sale at 10 Euro each [ less than a Euro a month!] Collect at the Boules or call to 17 V.P.

New Alden Park boules surface:
The thin layer of new surface material is bedding in ok.  It is taking a little getting used to but generally the comments are favourable.  Here we see some trying out the pistes for the first time..

Malahide Boules:
A group from BBC is supporting the Malahide start-up boules.  We will assist at irregular intervals as weather permits over December / January.  Then they can establish their own systems etc. The pistes are brand new and a little slow but a great facility nonetheless with toilets, parking and cafe nearby.  Any occasional support would be most welcome.  My thanks to those who have already supported.

Boules Explosion:
New facilities recently added or refurbed.

Santry Demesne just inside the main gate.  A pair of pistes with parking and toilets nearby.  The wheelchair access points are more considered that the Malahide ones.

Griffeen Valley Petanque Club: Griffeen Valley, Lucan
An open terrain that can be string-marked for competitions.  6+ pistes possible.

Marlay Park, Rathfarnham [refurbishment / upgrade ]
An open terrain with possibility of 6 pistes. if marked out.

Kinsale Petanque. New Single piste re-sited and replacing two older ones.
[photos courtesy of Chris.]  Interesting Signage and scoreboard on the rear.

Also, he took a photo of a nearby Defibrillator.  We've discussed the idea but think the broader community could be involved for funding / security / training / maintenance.  There is some Boules ring-fenced moneys [ c. 500] in the BCA account.  Consider how we might spend it, wisely.
