82nd Post.....down at the Business End.

  We've arrived at the business end of the two month long BBC  Singles Matchplay Competition.  From the table below,, and the Quarter Final Bracket below that, you can the the cream of the crop.  Unfortunately Brian was unable to finish out the competition so his 4th place in Group 1 went to the next best-placed player Vivienne. The remaining fixtures will be played over this week with the Final on Sunday 4th July, weather permitting.  We expect a good deal of interest in these fixtures so spectators are asked to continue to socially distance, unless in a bubble.  Bring a chair if needed as the benches won't accommodate all-comers.   The Gov. 81st Post...... Explosion of Boules in Dublin

  Late evening boules both casually and in competition.  Singles competition nearing completion. The league table positions as of 21/06/21.  Fixtures to be completed by Sunday next 27th. Remaining fixtures before the top four play off from both sides.  1st in Group A will play 4th in Group B.  2nd in Group A will play 3rd in Group B.   and visa versa. A very interested spectator! The launch pad.... Madame et Monsieur... Quite the salute!... What a line-up.... Is everyone getting better??? The Grandstand.... Rockfield Park, Artane double Pistes under construction this week. Donaghmede Park double Piste installation during the week.  A new home for the Donaghmede Men's Shed. Welcome users of the Alden facility not involved in the BBC Group. A group of players organised by Larry are trialing usage of St Anne's Park facility on Saturday mornings.    

80th Post. Trading Places.....

A mix of  League players and casual players enjoying the balmy weather under an interested, watchful eye!  The League Table standings, as of Sunday 13th June is as follows - Both Groups are reduced to 14 players with 13 games to play.  The Donnellans have completed their compliment of games with identical scores except for the scoring averages!  The tables will adapt over the next couple of weeks.  So that we may restart group play in early July it is envisaged that the singles Competition will be complete before  Monday July 5th.  It would be ideal to be able to play the final on Sunday 4th July. Gerry and Ciaran served up a wonderful, closely-contested game that was in the melting pot to the end, early on Sunday morning. Games are being played throughout the week in this improving weather and the mix of players and the opportunity to meet new competitors is a welcome distraction outdoors in these Covid-restricted times.
