118th Post: More Tiers than Tears !!!

 Matchplay: The group stages of the matchplay has been completed as of Friday 14th April.  Not all fixtures were completed but with gentle exhortations from Ciaran the frenetic last week got most games played.  With forty players involved it was a great feat and Ciaran's algorithms were whirring away in the background identifying the qualifiers for the four-tier, knockout groups.  [ brackets courtesy of Ciaran] Tier 1: Tier 2: Tier 3: Tier 4: The Finals for each group will take place on either Sat 29th or Sun 30th April.  Each Group Winner will be presented with a prize with the winner of Tier 1 receiving the overall Trophy.  Our thanks to Ciaran Walsh for all his efforts on our behalf. Monday Group A Competition: Chris Grehan was the worthy winner of the Tom Walsh Trophy, for the previous competition, which was belatedly presented to him last Monday by the previous winner Sean Jenkins at the pistes.  Congratulations Chris. 117th Post: Matchplay Madness

  Group A Monday Competition: [courtesy of Ciaran] And another league is done. Chris' consistently excellent form wins the day as he's crowned Singles Champion for the second time. He did it in style, too, with eighteen 13s to boot. Congratulations Chris! It was a tight competition with Joan and Sean just three points back and the top six all grouped within eight points. Joan had an impressive debut edging second place from Sean on the number of  13s scored.  Kudos to Sean on a serious title defence effort.
