111th Post.... We just got a good Dressing Down

 Refurbishment Works:

Fingal Co.Co. delivered two tonnes of top dressing for the pistes, on request from the committee.  Some sub-stone had begun to appear on the pistes.  We will request some more grit for the pathways to define them better and suppress weed and grass growth.  Our thanks to the group of 'Spreaders' last Saturday morning.  Players will find the surface somewhat different for a few weeks but the weather will work its magic as happened recently in St. Anne's pistes.

Boules in the Dublin region:
Each pin represents a Boules Area in and around Dublin.  The various councils, including Fingal, are installing pistes in various locations.  The most recent in our region is in Malahide Park near the children's playground.

Sunday Boules:
The casual Sunday Afternoon Boules is a slow burner.  It was designed to replace the Friday Evening sessions but we will review if there's a demand.  Four played on the 'new' surface.  It plays very differently.  It will definitely train us to repair a 'mark' after each end.  You're allowed one each time!!

Christmas event:
We will have a post Christmas one-day, open event.  The format has to be arranged but hopefully it will attract all-comers for a 'nominal', once-off, trophy/prize.....not a Turkey!  A Triples Competition has been mooted. Two boules each.....you'll love it!

Not a Triplet Competition though.....
