105th Post Weather and Matchplay heating Up!

Group A :  Monday Competition  Winner

Michael Dolan was the worthy winner of the Tom Walsh Memorial Trophy.  Ciaran presented him with the trophy for winning the 1st Quarter competition with the highest score just pipping Larry to the post.

He was delighted to win the trophy and he was highly complimentary to the members of the B.B.C. who have made him so welcome and the organisation involved in running the boules in Alden Park.

Matchplay situation as of today:

When the final fixtures of this coming week are completed we will know the players in the three Knockout Groups.  Top 4 from each Group; Bottom 4 from each Group and the remaining Mid-tier Group.

Matchplay Competition:

Some photos of the ongoing Matchplay Competition.  Players are playing people they haven't even met before with the mix from Group A and Group B.  The games; win, lose or draw are a great bonding exercise for the B.B.C.

The results are bearing witness to the increasing skill levels all round.  Many matches are halved or the margins of victory are minimal.  The addition of spectators adds spice to proceedings with all player's efforts being applauded.

The arrangement of fixtures off the Matchplay App is progressing well and players are posting the fixtures and results in a timely fashion which makes the job of data entry much easier.  It also allows interested parties to spectate if they know the times of the fixtures.

IPA Triples Competition.

Ciaran, Tom D and Eileen D hope to represent B.B.C. at the Triples event on Sat. 23rd April in Bushy Park, Terenure.  Just testing the waters with little practice in this format to date.
