99th Post.....Ciaran retains the League Title.

 Monday Competition BBC Group A

Ciaran maintained his fine form to the end to retain the Tom Walsh Trophy.  He had an unassailable lead even before today's play.

Final result sheet for BBC Group A Competition Dec 2021.

As you can see James gave Ciaran a good run for his money.  They both played identical number of matches and scored fifteen 'thirteens' each.  However, Ciaran had a slightly better scoring average over the best of twenty-four counting scores.  Hard luck James and congrats also to Sean who was just off the pace.
The timed, three changes during the two hour slot was novel for us but it worked well.  Everyone enjoyed the games and there was regularly more than twelve playing.

Our final competition games before the Christmas break was well attended and enjoyable despite the wind chill.

Matchplay Competition is hotting up.....while slow to start, with the difficulties arranging fixtures, we are now well underway with the cream beginning to rise.  The first three pairs after this group stage will have a bye into the quarter finals.
The remaining ten pairs will play a 'Single' game to advance in the knockout phase.  Ciaran will draw the pairings and advise us.  While just the 'single' game counts, feel free to play on if you wish at your leisure without any further scores counting.
The last eight pairing will be bracketed and will play 'Single' games with the winner advancing from each match, in true knockout fashion, until the final winning pair is decided.
This competition should be over before Christmas - weather permitting.
