We had twelve players today. We were rained off for the morning session so, in deference to the players who have a distance to travel, we called it off just after 9 a.m. and postponed proceedings to 7 p.m.
Nigel came to watch but when he saw three on piste A he retrieved his boules from the car and played the full session. Tom Blake came down to watch and practice on piste D. Hope he comes down again.
It was bright and breezy until the last few minutes when a squally shower spoiled proceedings and sent us scurrying. It didn't do the score sheet much good either. When it eventually dried out Ciaran sorted the penultimate table below.
All to play for especially for the top seven. Remember it is your best 8 scores totaled.......If its tied the number of 13s scored decides.......if still tied after that we add the next best score to each......
What got into Tommy and Jimmy.........the evening light I suspect......
Chris identifying the 'offending' enemy boules so his 'rear gunner' can mount a preemptive attack and normal service can be resumed. Pity that Nigel had seen the 'Dam Busters movie numerous times.....
We were treated to a magnificent full double rainbow just as play finished. Tom B just lost out on the Crock O' Gold!!
Gerry W paid a surprise visit around noontime, in his recovery. He said the specialist insisted that he take up Boules!!! He was going home for lunch and then down to St. Anne's for the afternoon session!
Unfortunately somebody/ies have begun graffiti again on the benches only this time with a sharp object.
We'll sort it and keep on top of it but its not acceptable....in an ideal world they would have to clean it and sort it! Think of the good use all that energy could be put to in support of community.
