41st Post: Let the Competition recommence.....

We're back playing Competition again.  Place for 16 [ 4 x 4 ] .  Fourteen played today.  Beautiful morning.  Week Four today,  as we played three rounds before the outbreak.  As many were playing in Competition for the first time we decided that this session will have best 8 of 12 to count in the 12 week period.
Ciaran has updated the spreadsheet to take account of the changes.  We're very grateful and appreciative of the work he's doing on the score sheet.
Ciaran, also, went to the bother of marking the sides of each pistes to identify the  6 m. to 10 m. required distance for the landing area of the Jack for competition.

Ciaran distance marking the side boards.

After a chat we decided to keep the 9.30 start and finish at 11 a.m. for the next while.  After we reach 16 players additional names will have to go into the next time-slot.
In the photo below notice the deliberate social distancing.  Keep it going.  Move your boules to the side of the piste with your foot before picking them up to ensure distancing.

The Scores after Week 4 - The score under RT [Running Total] is the accumulated score for each player.  The current position of each player is reflected in the ranking order.

Remember the situation at present is after four weeks and some players have played four times.  Others haven't and could still catch up over the 12 weeks.
In the event of a tie at the end of competition the number of Thirteens scored will determine the winner.
Ciaran is sourcing a trophy in memory of his late, dad Tom Walsh, an avid Bowls player who would have loved Boules.

Rule to Remember:

Q1. When the jack goes dead, which team scores? ▲
The answer is —
  • If one and only one of the teams has unplayed boules, that team scores as many points as it has unplayed boules.
  • If both, or neither, of the teams has unplayed boules, then neither team scores any points.
