36th Post...TIMETABLE for Restricted play from May 18th.

Bayside Boules Community.

[ Dependent on Government Advice for sports like Tennis and Golf where you use your own equipment and stay apart.  Starting provisionally on Monday May 18th]

Text me 0874115145 to have your name included for one or all the days...first come first served.  I've slightly changed the times to 1 hour slots with 15 mins. grace for changeovers.  I will rake the surfaces during the days at intervals or bring your own rake.

Possible Timetable for Monday, Wednesday and Saturday Boules if the Government ease restrictions on May 5th or May 11th.  Text me your preferences for one or more days.  If you are unable to play on your chosen slot just WhatsApp the group and somebody else might be able to play in your place.

I hope this arrangement allows some play until restrictions ease further.  The Singles play is to allow for the 2 Metre restriction.  Family members can play alongside on a pistes, but for the optics for the passing public make the 2 Metre ruling as obvious as possible.

Since Golf and Tennis are allowed, in a restricted manner from Monday 18th May, we hope to start practise/play with just one person per piste. No rings. Just mark a throwing ring with your foot. Bring your own measuring tape to measure. Keep your score on a piece of paper or phone app.......Petanque: Score Master
By playing with the same people at the same time slot each day you reduce potential exposure to the virus. Only handle your own equipment and sanitise regularly. Wearing a mask might become obligatory. We await Government advice.
Either practice or play competitively with the player alongside. These slots can cater for 40 players playing Singly across a day.
If playing competitively you agree on a similar position for the cosh on side by side Pistes and place/drop the cosh. [ AvB ] [CvD]
You each throw in sequence from a similar position / ring in your Piste.
When all three boules are thrown you measure the nearest ones to the cosh on your piste then compare to see who has the nearest one, two or three boules and record on a piece of paper or App.. We won't be using scoreboards yet.
Please be prepared to move when next players arrive for their slot. Other times on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday may be free for play also.
If you can't make your slot just put it up on the WhatsApp and another player may take it up, if free. Only 4 players at a time though, until further notice.
