149th Post: Happy Christmas and Best Wishes for 2026
Happy Christmas and Health and Happiness for 2026 December was its usual quiet self with competition and play winding down. The final reckoning for the Saturday Competition took place on Saturday 20th December where the top eight players played in a random doubles pairing with the winners progressing to the semis where another random pairing occurred. The final was contested by the winning pair. Pat Ryan and Larry Breheny beat Dirk Starz and Nigel O'Mahony in one quarter final and Joan Maher and Vivienne O'Mahony defeated Hamed Sako and Michael Dolan in the other. The Semi Final pairings led to Joan and Larry defeating Pat and Vivienne. The final singles pairing were Joan versus Larry. Larry managed a victory over Joan who had played commendably well throughout the competition. Congratulations to Larry.
