Monday Competition:

Today, 23-12-24, was the final day of the Monday Competition.   Congratulations Larry.  Larry will receive the much sought-after trophy at the 1st event of the next season. He was in pole position before play today and cemented his dominance of this iteration.  His consistency in 'pointing' and willingness to 'shoot' accurately, when required, placed him at the top of the pile.   Michael, John and Agnes were in the chasing group.  Next time folks!

A new Competition will commence in January 2025 and is open to all.  It is very enjoyable and the format lends itself to a sociable ensemble with three games each session and partners chosen by lot.  Our thanks to Ciarán for compiling the software to run the competition so successfully.

BBC Christmas Lunch in The Elphin Wed. 11th Dec.

Our thanks to Anne D who liaised with The Elphin bar/restaurant for our Christmas Lunch.  Thirty or so members made it to the occasion and the food was great in the back bar.  Everyone looked after their own food and drinks bill which allowed for a relaxed afternoon for the organiser, Sorry, I forgot to take a couple of pics at the event.  Hope these make up for it....

BBC Christmas Event:

Ciarán organised a Yuletide Event for BBC members on Saturday 21st.  The weather obliged and we had  brief  Pointing and Shooting competitions before the two games.  Ciarán kept note of the scores and the eventual winner was John O'Connor who snaffled the Yule Log main prize.  Ciarán had organised some raffle prizes also which added to the occasion.  The mulled wine was a winter winner,  as prepared by Eileen D.  BBC funds paid for the event.  Best dressed by a 'city mile' was Ciarán. Our thanks to Dirk who took the photos of the occasion.

Mid-week and Saturday Boules:

It is wonderful to see how many members play at least twice a week and some even more!  From Fingal point of view it is wonderful that the installation is being used almost daily.
