Welcome: To our latest member Maryse Rovera who plays most Thursdays in the very welcoming group. Turnouts: Great turnouts most days of play across the month. If the weather is not entirely off-putting there are many willing players ready to prove their progress. The Saturday Competition mornings are generally the best attended averaging 24 on most occasions. We are gradually getting adjusted to the new scoring system. Thursday 20th Defibrillator Update: We are just awaiting on an electrician to install the Defibrillator on the school wall at the rear entrance to the school opposite the BBC play area in Alden Park. When installed it will be available for the school population, the Alden Park users and the general population nearby. We are hoping to have it installed by Christmas!! Tom Walsh Trophy As promised......Pat with the trophy.... Next iteration of the Tom Walsh Trophy, with the Monday and Saturday pathways, is due for completion shortly. Reminder, that the top four from both days qualify for the final elimination rounds. If you qualify both days you remain where your highest score is earned and the next highest ranked player on that day moves up to replace you. Summer Time: Unusually fine weather brought us out in our summer finery..and to celebrate Joan's birthday. Ongoing Maintenance . Thanks in particular to Tom B, Sharyon and Sean J for their ongoing attention to the flower beds particularly in this dry spell. The IPA Irish Mixed Doubles are shared between BBC and St. Anne's on Sunday June 7th. Two pistes in St. Anne's needed attention as they are rarely used. We got them cleared of grasses and weeds and the Park Super. has said he will deliver extra top dressing shortly. We might need a few helpers next week...
