84 th Post....The Calm before the Storm [ of the Bastille!]

Bit of excitement at Bayside Square on Thursday 8th July with the official opening of the anchor client.

Meanwhile, back near Alden Park we had our own excitement .....

Contrary to rumours it wasn't for the SKY Sports Cameras covering our Matchplay Singles Final but rather mundanely preparations for the revamping of the school roof.

In the silly season between competitions and Group Play our equivalent of 'Crop circles' began to appear in the park.

Reminder:

Tomorrow Monday 12th July we restart the old Group A Competition meeting at 9.45 to start at 10 a.m.  We have a few games to complete the old competition.

Group B start play on Tuesday morning meeting at 9.45 to start at 10 a.m.

If  Group B could play at their allotted time but delay the start of their own 'Competition' for a couple of weeks if will give time to organise the Group, collect  a small fee to buy a prize for their group competitions and align their next competition with the next Group A competition.

Covid permitting this is the Timetable for BBC Activity for the next while with conditions below......

*When light permitsDuring Sngls/Dbles Comp. 1 Pistes is left free for casual play.

When playing Singles / Doubles Competition we leave one piste free for casual non-BBC players.
If the groups listed are on site and playing please wait until a casual slot becomes available later. If, however, the group allocated is not taking up any or all the pistes then casual play on the free pistes should be possible.
N.B. If schoolchildren are playing, in a school setting e.g. P.E. class, then adults should NOT play alongside them.
Bayside Boules Community is the main voluntary, administrative / maintenance group and it anticipates growth in numbers playing, which will mean separate groups under the umbrella of Bayside Boules Community as only 24 players max. can play at one time. Sixteen players is ideal [ 4 x 4 ].
Check baysideboules.blogspot.com for details. Boules equipment can be ordered online or bought from Decathlon Ballymun or ordered online from various suppliers. Please buy a set of three boules, not two, if purchasing.
Check the Boules Rules on the notice board or contact regular Boules players for further information.
It is the duty of every player to play safely and not put others in danger. BBC bears no responsiblity for your usage of the facility. You do so at your own risk. Please read the rules carefully and stay safe.
In Covid-19 times we are very conscious of social distancing and hand sanitising and coughing/sneezing etiquette. Generally each player should have their own separate equipment and we abide by Gov. advice with an abundance of caution.
Please remove any rubbish and place it in the bins at either end of the pathways.

French National Holiday 14th July

As with last year we hope to mark Bastille Day next Wednesday with a small 'Fun Event' in the morning.
The weather forecast seems favourable at present.  The committee will set up the area with bunting and flags.  We will have  4 Fun events on the Pistes for the first hour and then players can eat / drink their own supplies as we won't be sharing food/drink in the circumstances.
Players will then play a mini doubles/triples on the four pistes for one game or a limited time.
wear something 'French!' to mark the occasion and that Gerry and/or Charlie will have their French Music track on their bluetooth speakers.
