63rd Post... much ado about everything..

 COMPETITION:

Group A successfully restarted our Monday Competition today.  It was a beautiful morning and we had fourteen players.  Four players, Nigel, Maureen, Yvonne and Michael played at the noon slot to alleviate the pressure of numbers.  As you can see Gerry maximised his score over the three games giving him the highest average score and well in the reckoning having only played 15 of the possible 21 ends.

Stepping out....

Stepping in....

A step above...

STEP ASIDE GROUPS;

This is the 'Step Aside' chart for Group A.  There are four active groups and we start start again with Group A [Yellow Colour ] next week.  Since we have 20 players and can only accommodate 16 max. four are asked to step aside each Monday Comp. day and potentially Wed. and Sat from the 10 a.m. slot if numbers require it.  The names with N/A [ Not Applicable ] after them have genuine reasons to be absolved from the set up.

MATCHPLAY:

The first semi-final was played in wonderful conditions at 1.00 p.m. on Sunday  11-10-20.
Vivienne and Nigel and Eileen and Tom served up exciting fare with the former couple winning out after a shaky start to advance to the final.  This is a remarkable achievement especially considering Vivienne has just taken up the game.  For those wondering if they could play the game she is the 'Poster Girl'  we will use to confirm to potential recruits that it is a game of the ages and for the ages and not to be intimidated.

Seconds out....

GROUP B:

Eight players played this morning along with James. They had great games in beautiful sunshine.  There were a few missing but we hope to get a full compliment of 16 despite Covid.  The step-aside group from Group A played alongside.

RULES;

 Article 14, Rules to apply if the jack is dead

If, during an end, the jack is dead, one of three cases can apply:
1) Both teams have boules to play, the end is void and the jack is thrown by the team that scored the points in the previous end or who won the toss.
 2) Only one team has boules left to play, this team scores as many points as boules that remain to be played.
3) The two teams have no more boules in hand, the end is void and the jack is thrown by the team that scored the points in the previous end or who won the toss.
