59th Post...Welcome to Group B.....

Between  the Covid-19 shadow and the unexpected turn in the weather we had reduced numbers this morning in the absence of Competition.  Ten players played in the 10 a.m. slot.  We're expecting a few more umbrellas to be delivered soon and they'll be welcome. ' Masks wearing' and 'Social Distancing' remained the order of the day.

When we finished at 11.30 the newly-formed Group B arrived to play.  Their start-up was slightly delayed by the weather and the Matchplay Draw.  We welcomed Evelyn Clinton, Marie Doherty, Denis Breheny, Joan Maher and Pat Durcan   Deirdre Thompson sent her apologies.  Larry, Agnes and James played alongside the newcomers and introduced them to play.  Our thanks to them.  Barbara and Kevin will join them on their return. Sixteen is the magic number after which we will be looking to start Group C.

Ciaran arrived to make the Matchplay Draw in the height of the rainstorm and outlined some rules:

Knockout competition.    5 Euro entry fee to cover Perpetual trophy and local voucher.
Round 1 to be played before next Sunday night. [ one week per round thereafter]
The games to be played outside of the normal Mon., Wed. and Sat times.
The players on the top of the draw have to arrange the playtime in Casual Slots on timetable.
Phone contact numbers available on the App.
Update the results to the new App.  Winners job.
Best of three games to count.
Contact Ciaran if you have 'exceptional reasons' for not playing in allotted time.

On an unrelated matter these broken branches were a danger to children and potential Halloween tinder but a message on the Fix My Street App. late last week led to their removal this morning by Fingal Co. Co.  A very quick service. If you have any issues regarding litter; graffiti; street lighting; broken street furnishings; pathway; damaged trees; obvious dangers, etc. make use of this free service ....
