40th Post. Boules, Badges and Breakout.
Some images from our 'Socially Distancing' play over the last week of beautiful weather followed by wintry weather. The timetable worked fairly well for the Monday, Wednesday and Saturday Slots from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As you will see from the end of the page, after the Taoiseach's announcement on Friday 5th on the easing of Covid-19 restrictions we can have 15 players which would mean we could recommence the Wednesday League as well as having larger groups on the Mon. Wed. and Sat.
4 x 4 per piste makes 16 players on any day, mindful of social distancing.
Earlier in the week we had beautiful sunshine......
All that lovely weather replaced by wintry, weather conditions on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th.

Badges:
Below are photos of the range of coloured badges for our Bayside Boules Community. They are a quality embroidered badge that can be ironed-on permanently, or stitched on at the corners, or stitched along the sides, or attached by using a tie pin [easiest for attaching to multiple garments].
If you want to switch between items of clothing ironing-on is not advisable. If ironing-on to a shirt
[ permanent!!] check this website for instructions: irishschoolbadges.ie/application.html
They cost €5 each. You can buy multiples and choose your colours ..... while stocks last. First come / first served. I may not have your preferred colour, if you delay. Order by text to 0874115145 rather than the group text and I'll put them aside for you. When they're gone they're gone! Please put the 'paper' money in an envelope when paying with your name and your order on the outside.

Lockup not Lockdown:
We now have a storage facility for the Boules Paraphernalia with a code lock. Ring me for the location and the code. Please be gentle with the locking mechanism as it is not the most robust unit.
- The lock code has to be entered. Then you can open the shackle. Then temporarily remove the lock.
- N.B. Press in the Grey Button on the handle and turn the handle to unlock the lid.
- Raise the lid gently and then you can open the door/s right hand side first.
- Take out whatever is needed. The wooden-handled rakes are stored separately, nearby.
- Gently close the doors [N.B. making sure that the top left of the right-hand door engages with the slot on the top left of the left-hand door.]
- Bring the lid down gently.
- Then press in the Grey Button again and turn the handle to lock on the roof panel.
- Replace the lock with the red line facing left with the Code and only then scramble the numbers after after you've closed the shackle.
