Monday Group 25-10-21. 
A beautiful autumnal morning though the hats and jackets and even hoodies hint at the temperature.  Numbers creeping up as holiday makers return.

Tuesday Group 26-10-21.  
Though few in number the enthusiasm was infectious.  Seven players in a four and three combination.

137th Post: Cavan Pétanque Club visit to Bayside Boules Club

BBC  v  CPC Sunday 3rd November in Alden Park: The outstanding rematch between Cavan and Bayside took place in murky but dry weather in Alden Park yesterday.  Cavan originally expected to have 18 players but their numbers fell to 13 on the day.  Bayside had 27 players on our list and that dwindled also, but able replacements showed up on the day. CPC were treated to refreshments in the BCC and greeted by Eileen D, Eileen O'B, Mary G, Agnes G and Kathryn O'D from the BBC.  They were able to have tea/coffee and sandwiches and use the facilities before decanting to Alden Park.  Our thanks to the ladies who did the 'meet and greet'.  The sandwiches were provided by Perfect Day Café courtesy of the €5 collected from each BBC player on the day.   They arrived well before the scheduled time and were at Alden shortly after noon.  They practiced for a half hour and then we commenced play with the BBC teams being rejigged due to the earlier start....

132nd Post: Imminent Expansion to BBC

Monday Competition: As we are halfway through the final iteration of this competition and the competition is hotting up.  As the weather improves so does the playing numbers.  The competition whets the appetite and adds an edge to the friendly proceedings.  When the new pistes arrive we will open up a weekly Competition to all interested players. Saturday Coaching: The Saturday 'half-hour', coaching has started before the 11:00 a.m. play.  If interested, please arrive ready to start before 10:30 out of courtesy to the organisers have already spent time raking and setting out the various activities. Opportunities to develop Pointing, Shooting, Driving and Lobbing Skills are provided.  Good practice is promoted and players get an opportunity to do multiple, focused activities with a view to trying new skills and improving older ones.   Below: Ciarán demonstrating Shooting strategy. 135th Post: Spreading our wings....

Monday Competition: The Monday competition is continuing with keen interest from all involved including the latest players, John O'connor, Eddie Phillips,  Hamed Sako, Terry Stanley, Marie Doherty.                                                        Following the AGM earlier in the year the Committee has agreed to move the next Competition to Saturday mornings with a view to permitting working members to play, should they wish, and broaden the appeal to potential new, younger members along with other BBC members who couldn't play on Mondays.
